I'm planning a weekday drive next week, on Tuesday, 9/1. The destination is Shaniko, an "old west ghost town" on Highway 97, 60-some miles southeast of Government Camp. We'll be on two-lane country highways on the wide open Columbia plateau. (It really does look like the old west out there - sagebrush and chaparral!) My neighbor Steve (in his Saturn Sky Turbo) and djmike are in. Evan is a maybe. Is anyone else available & interested in going? I'll edit this post later with a starting place and time.

I wish I could go!!! But alas, like so many others, I have bills to pay and can't get out of working!
