For the Portland Metro area I recommend these stops

Powell's City of Boooks (Largest new and used bookstore in the World ): http://www.powells.com/locations/powells-city-of-books/

Japanese Gardens: http://www.japanesegarden.com/

Pittock Mansion (looks out onto Portland, very beautiful) : http://pittockmansion.org/

Rose Garden at Washington Park (this place is considered the most romantic/scenic in Portland) : http://www.rosegardenstore.org/thegardens.cfm

Multnomah Falls (there are some fun twisty roads to get there!), Historic Lodge: http://www.multnomahfallslodge.com/ , http://trips.stateoforegon.com/multnomah_falls/

The View Point Inn, http://www.theviewpointinn.com/

Vista House at Crown Point, http://vistahouse.com/

For food I recommend:

Breakfast:
Screen Door
Pine State Biscuits (Our favorite!! And featured on some food network show)
Doug Fir Lounge (Our favorite!!)
Wicked Waffles

Lunch/Dinner:
FARM
Por Que No
Bunk Sandwhiches
Hot Lips Pizza
Le Pigeon
Tastebud
Burgerville for a quick meal

Anytime of day:
Voodoo Doughnuts (Known for their bacon maple bars ) : http://voodoodoughnut.com/about.php

I hope you have a fun and safe trip!
