Hey guys, looks like I need a couple new rear tires (go figure). Anyone have any suggestions? I'm not looking for a 100,000 mile tire, I was thinking somewhere in the 30k 40k range with good performance. Thanks guys!! Let me know!!

The stock RE050 is a great tire. No reason not to stick with them really.

I don't think that you are going to find any 100,000 mile tires for the S2000. For rear tires 30k miles is pushing the limit if you want a tire that has any type of grip.

The last set of tires I had were the Toyo T1-R's and those were great tires. I still think I liked the RE050's better overall though. The Toyo was quieter but the RE050 was stickier and just felt better to me.

I have heard great things about the OEM tires, except the cost. That was a deciding factor for me. I decided to try something different.

I am running Yokohama AVID A4S. The ruber compound is a little hard - 500 wear rating. They come with a 60k mile warranty - I figure I will be getting new ones before that.

I think 20-30K is a realistic expectation out of any decent tires for the S. Personally, I'd suggest you match the front tires and do a complete changeover your next set (normally 1 front = 2 rears). For the S, it's a lot safer to keep the same handling characteristics on the entire set then mis-match the front and rear.

I've run T1Rs for the past two years and really like them.

I've gotten about 20k, give or take, out of the rears. 30-40k on the fronts.
I've never experienced the old S02s except a few months on the front when I first got the car.
