Are there any local (PDX) shops which can do a clutch for less than $1.5k?
I need to get a clutch job done, but the two shops I've asked both said they have to pull the engine to do the clutch, so they tack on a lot of hours. Unsure of how legit this is, I'm wondering if there are any shops which can do a clutch job for less than $1,500?
Thanks guys!

PULL THE MOTOR?
They're high. You have to seperate the trans from the motor to pull it. &*%^ that noise.
If Trackforged can't help you, call AR Auto Service in Lake Oswego. Eddie and co did my Comptech flywheel/ACT clutch install as well as my Ap2 valve retainer install in my first AP1 I owned. They're still my go-to shop, even though I live in Seattle these days.

here is a link to the diy I used, it is very good. Uses the "engine tilt method". This will save you a lot of money.

It is more difficult than some other cars but not that big a deal... I have done three in my garage some time back. The procedure is to get the car high, lower the engine (it has bolts to accommodate the move), and tilt it a little to pull the transmission off.
It always took me about 12+ hours but I did them by myself with cheap home tools. I think the book is 8 hours so at $60 the labor charge would come to $480. I don't remember what parts are but guess about $900 so with a shop charge and tax $1500 is not out of line.
Just the price of having this car... parts and labor have always been higher than others.
