Well it takes away from the games, but ppl need to bluff somehow. Its a 10,000 dollar buy in! Not 20 bucks lol. But 20 bucks is a lot of money regardless =)

^ I think it adds to the game, It makes it more challenging to read faces, I also think some people do it to become a "character" of sorts. If you go to a casino around here they allow it as well, and Ipods too. But dont get me wrong, I side with you, I would never wear shades while playing, or use an ipod, it does distract you from the game.

Tournament play is just a different kind of poker, Instead of playing just your hand it opens up other ways to play a person, you can use chip position (large stack or short) and you are almost forced to play as the tournament progresses, But I like playing both tournament and cash games, so i vote for both

Alright, I guess just to get this rolling, Ill have a poker tourny at my house this coming thursday night the 10th. The game is going to be texas hold em. 20 dollar buy in, the split is going to be 120 first, 60 second, and 20 third. Limit is ten people.
