what kind of tires do you have on there?

I drove the S a little bit this past week when the roads were in pretty bad shape and it was white-knuckle driving to say the least (on Toyo T1R's ). After running a few errands I got the S stuck in the driveway and said screw it, I'm not driving it until the roads are clear. I was intending on getting a set of snow tires for this winter but never really got around to it.

I'm on Toyo Observes. They do very well. Was able to "hillclimb" up the excessive slush and slop at Govt. Camp on Friday without issue before it melted off Sat. That photo of the road up to Timberline is a pretty severe grade too and I only had issue with the ruts pulling me side to side a little.

The biggest downside to them is they lack in grip for dry conditions so it can feel pretty unstable on the highway at speed. Not that it stops me

I also got a TON of funny looks up at Timberline with people staring as I drove through the parking lot. When we were coming back today I took the top down at Snow Bunny and got even more odd looks. One guy told me "I love it!" when I put it down right in front of him.

Aaron,
You are such a crazy man , but you have my respect . I can't believe you drive on that stuff in your S. You're too much. I love the picture of your mock refrigerator .

Hmm, I may have to invest in a set of stock wheels and snow tires for next year. I'm not looking to drive over the pass or anything like that, but it would be nice to be able to drive it around town without soiling myself or getting stuck in 1/4" of slush. I checked on the Toyo Observes but they dont seem to have anything that would fit my rims, granted the aspect ratio on an 18" wheel isn't ideal for driving in the snow anyway. Wish I could find myself a nice deal on some stockers like the guy in that "Score" thread from the other day.

I have a friend with a 350z base (no traction control) and I dont know how he does it, but he drives that thing through the worst conditions Bend has to offer, and I've seen him do it on Toyo RA1's! Those are drag radials! He's got a good couple hundred pounds on the S but still, it amazes me how he manages to get around in the snow in that thing.

Sweet, just got observes for my IS... good to know even the S can go through snow with them, I remember not being able to leave my driveway in the S last year (literally)

We just bought a Jeep Cherokee and went up to the mountain last Sunday. Parts of the roads were falling apart from frost heave and the gravel all over the place was awful. I remember thinking to myself; I'm glad the S is at home.
