need help with carbon fiber hood.
hey guys.. just looking for some help, maybe a quick walkthrough would be nice.
heres the deal..
i bought an oem style carbon fiber hood for 350 dollars about a month ago. there was a spider crack the size of a quarter on the left edge, and that was it. ive been driving with it on my car now for the past month, and yesterday, when i was washing my car, i noticed that their was white spots all over my hood. i got close, and scratched the white off with my nail, and realized my clearcoat was coming off in spots all over my hood. how do i go about fixing this? do i sand it down?
any input would be really nice.. plus the gas to drive to marysville from my house, im in almost 500 dollars for this hood. : ( i think i got screwed over.
heres a pic so you can kind of get an idea of what it looks like.

if you get alot of sun on the car i would stop! I always cover my car if it is outside and getting sun. The UV will fade the clear coat to a yellowish color and it could also crack/ seperate it. Its a pain. As for your situation, i havnt seen that before. I would wet sand it and possibley put a UV clear coat on it....thats all i got. sorry to see that happen man.

leaving it? the clear coat is peeling off all over the whole hood. im taking it off as soon as it clears up, and going back to red. i just want to be able to use the hood again. it looks horrible right now.

The only way to fix it is to find a shop to wet sand it and re- clear it.
Its not going to be cheap but it will be like a brand new hood when done and it will be easy to wax a keep it looking good.
