My Sunday
One of the Oregon members car was stolen several months ago. During recovery the tow truck driver managed to scratch his car a good bit. In addition to the scratches there were some heavy swirls as all BB's do. Our goal was to decrease the amount and intensity of the swirls. This is his DD so removing all trace of swirls was not a goal.
The owner of the car is SickShift (Roger). He and I worked on the car for about 6.5 hours.
What was done:
Washed
Clayed
Wet sanded a few filled in scratched
Polished with Power Gloss on orange pad on the Flex
Second pass was Super Finish on the blue pad on the Flex
We applied a layer of Mcguires glaze with gray pad on the Flex
We finished it all off with a layer of Liquid Glass by hand.
Before pics
This is representative of the condition of the car - the HT is only a couple of months old so the swirls were not as bad.
During
This is half and half on the trunk. This area was especially bad due to the tow truck driver putting lights here causing some heavy swirling.
Completed:
The same rear panel after we have polished. Notice the improvement.
As we finished the sun was leaving us. We moved the car outside to snap a few images of the car.
