Default Marmot Rd & Barlow Trail Rd

Sometime when you're driving up to Mt. Hood, try these side routes that parallel Highway 26 between Sandy and Zigzag. It will take a little longer, but The Fun Factor makes it worth it - curves and twisties and some nice scenery along the Sandy River.

At the east end of Sandy take Ten Eyck Road (north).
Bear right on Marmot Road, which takes you to a stop sign at Barlow Trail Road. (If you turn right here you'll be back at Highway 26, near Brightwood, in 1/2 mile.)
Turn left on Barlow Trail Road and follow it to the next stop sign at Lolo Pass Road.
Go right (south) on Lolo Pass Road to pick up Highway 26 again at Zigzag.

I take this every time I go visit my aunt and uncle. They live on lolo. Its an awesome drive. I especially like the part where you drop into this valley right after all the twistys on marmot before you get to barlow trail. Its gorgeous. Nothing but trees and fields in this valley and one house with a barn and a stone wall around it. Good times. Very scenic. Highly recommended.
