Motor cycle shops would have helmets similar to what your looking for and give you an idea on sizing

Any moto shop would have a lot of helmets to pick from.
Most are DOT and Snell certified too.

I actually checked them out in the Hillsboro/Beaverton area, and what they will tell you is that bike shops are not authorized to deal auto racing helmets, and what they sell actually don't fully qualify. The manager at the Hillsboro shop told me that they might pass depending on venue. If the event organizer is picky, they will not allow you to use motorcycle helmets for auto racing.

I ended up doing some test fitting there, and they went with the online route. If you have better luck with the moto shops, let me know which one, I'd like to go check them out.

I'm surprised.

Dont most racing clubs require that the helmet be either DOT or Snell or both? I dont see why they would say one doesnt qualify if it meets those requirements regardless of where you bought them from.

hey ahbi,

i suggest going to bob lanphere motorcycle out in tigard. http://www.beavertonmotorcycles.com/

they have the largest selection in the area. like a pair of shoes, i would try on different brands and models, because a M in shoei isnt going to fit like a M in Arai etc. and then like Brian suggested, I would then buy the helmet online because it is quite a bit cheaper.
