hotels downtown portland
Me and my girl are visiting portland for labor day weekend for a family function so I figured I'd hit up the town the night before. Was wondering what's a good hotel downtown next to some clubs and bars, preferably with a locked parking garage. I just don't know the area at all and don't want to book a hotel 30min away from all the action. Lol thanks for any info guys.

Welcome! If you plan to stay primarily within the downtown Portland area, everything is basically within walking distance. If you need to go slightly outside of the area, its a short street car (our trolly system) or max ride (our light rail system) away. We have been enjoying some beautiful weather so a walk to and from your destinations is great this time of year. It likely will come down to what your budget is. A room on labor day weekend downtown Portland likely will be $175+ per night for a place like Holiday Inn, our nicer hotels will be $300+. You should book ASAP, I did a quick search for you and many hotels are already booked up for the weekend. Good luck!

Agreed. Not sure on a locked parking garage either down there. Some hotels have private lots but if your car is lowered I would not recommend them. Paying to park in a garage around the hotel I would feel fairly safe leaving my car there over night.

Ace hotel in downtown. They have bikes you can rent, a fantastic restaurant, Clyde Common, and you're centrally located to all the good places. It's a modern, European style hotel but super cool. We've stayed in the one in Seattle about 5 times and each time it's great.

I ended up booking the marriott city center. (Mostly because my girlfriend was like oooohhhh I want that one). Lol but its close to voodoo donuts which is what sold me. I've always wanted to try it. Lol buuuut doesn't look like there is any parking. It's off of broadway downtown. Oh well ill find something. Thanks for the help you guys.

Nice!
What are you hobbies / interests? I am sure some of us can point you in the right direction.
As far as parking, there are plenty of parking garages around the area and I am sure if you call the front desk they will be able to offer some suggestions.

Baileys taproom is a great place to get a beer, very close to you on Broadway by Burnside. Plus the Mexican place next door is really good and you can order food and have it brought into the bar.
Ron Toms accross the river on Burnside is a fun place with a huge out door patio. Slabtown in downtown is also good, quite a few bars on one block, nothing pretentious about it.
