Default Final Gear Installation

Hey im thinking about getting some new gears on my ap1, Do you guys know of any respectable shops in Oregon, portland area or anywhere around there that would install these? Also wouldnt this mean that my spedomoter would be off?
What do i do about that?
Thanks alot

If you got a new gear ratio, your speedo would be off without a yellowbox to re-calibrate.

I don't know if any local members have gears installed. The only shops places that I can think of but don't know if they had ever installed them would be:

Paul Nix who is the master tech from Wilsonville Honda (have worked with) 503-218-4844
www.wilsonvillehonda.com

Eddie from Adrenaline Racing who works on S2000's (have worked with) (503)697-3311
www.arautoservice.net

Horsepower Freaks has good reputation but I don't know if they have ever installed gears on the S. I've recently spoke with Brandon from HP Freaks and they aren't doing any major installs or tuning since they are occupied working on a production E46 M3 Turbo kits. 503-256-5600

Rrev also has a good reputation on tuning but their lead tuner John Reed is no longer there so I can't say. These are the shops that I would look at for installs. 503-289-4020

Yes, you're speedo will be off. You can buy a "yellow" box from ricks2k.com

hope that helps. Let us know your experience with the shop you choose.

Yea horsepower freaks is too busy trying to sell their Supra. Forged motorsports is pretty good I hear. My buddy is getting a rb20 put into his 240 their. I don't know if they're good at gears tho. One of their techs there drives an 04 gpw w/ jic ti single and J's intake. it's pretty nice.

took time. its one of those things where you have to be dead on measurement wise. dont want too much play. backlash, etc.

i wouldnt give it a try unless you have done it before. if your off a bit, you could end up destorying it and having to do it again. might be worth the few hundred to have it done..
or atleast drop the rear end off the car yourself and take it to a shop to have the gear installed. then you can put the rear back in the car.

im not going to lie, it was a learning experience for me. my dad has been ase certified for over 30 years and had is own shop back in jersey before we moved. so a rear end isnt anything new for him. he was suprised to see it was a gear reduction rear end rather then a clutch pack.
