Driving "Crazy"
Hello all.
Last weekend one of our fellow S2000 groups back east had a drive. One of the members (an S2KI moderator) went off the road, totaled his car and ended up in the hospital with multiple fractures and a minor head injury.
Not that we have anyone on our forum who would get out of hand on one of our drives, but....
We both want to ensure everyone's safety on these drives. It is just a drive - not a race or "run".
Anyone who gets out of hand will get only one warning and if it happens again, will be banned from our meets and drives.
Thanks!
Larry & Aaron

We are not trying to treat you guys like kids but we don't want a bad reputation from one or two guys who take "spirited driving" too far. The cops will treat us as respected adults if we act that way and might tolerate us doing a little "spirited driving" as long as it is moderate. On the other hand they might give us a hard time if we give them a reason too.
This rule is not only for that reason but the number one reason is to keep everyone safe and in one piece.
Thanks for your cooperation on this everyone

I'm glad to read this. I'm one of the few who will freely admit to NOT being Jenson Button behind the wheel. I had a YZF750r and stopped riding with one guy in particular because I always felt like I was lucky to be alive after riding with him.

Sorry to here that guys. The only time I drive fast is when I'm with you guys doing spirited driving but nothing doing crazy though and I like that But when i have the itch to race I always take my car to PIR and let her out. Believe it or not I haven't had a single speeding ticket since I bought my car(knock on the wood). But you guys are right...we have to be safe and sane when we do some spirited driving and not to get crazy behind the wheel.....just remember guys our car is topless and no roof to protect us ....one mistake we could get really hurt. So be safe out there.

I can just see the news reports...."breaking news from Astoria"...."Jenny, we're here in Astoria following reports of a marauding band of hooligans, driving what we are told are Honda S2000...we'll be doing an in depth investigation on these cars........."
