Can't you pump your own gas anywhere in the state!

txs - I think we're one of only 2 states... or are we the only state? It's ridiculous. It's been voted on many times and oregon's population has upheld the current laws.

Apparently there is a need for jobs in the state. That's the only reason I can think of that the state keeps voting down the self-serve regulations.
That is the sole reason this keeps passing. The state is too lazy to come up with unique ideas to create jobs here in the state so we just offer a bunch of really crappy ones

Can you imagine the chaos that would happen if self-serve took effect?
Soccer moms dumping gas all over the ground because they pulled too soon, people not knowing how to start it, CELs all over from untightened caps...oh the humanity!

Dont worry that much Abhi. It really isnt THAT bad.
Like I said, just keep an eye on the attendant and comment if you feel it will be an issue.
I usually go to one of two stations here and they know how particular I am about it so they are always really good.

I've been living in Oregon 3+ yrs now and have never had an attendant screw anything up or do anything wrong. I worry more about them putting in the wrong octane fuel than anything else (my turbo setup + 87 octane = detonation) but they havent done that either *knock on wood*. I always look back before they start pumping the gas though to make sure they're putting premium in.

I was at a gas station in Eugene once and the guy was washing my windshield and he kinda dropped the squeegie on the car and put a small dent in it. From then on they don't wash my windows.
