Officially 466 miles and 8 hours and 50 minutes of drive time during the drive over two days time


When was the last time you ventured deep into Central Oregon? We're not talking Boutique'y Bend here. Come along on this two day drive that will take us through sage brush canyons, super tight roads, rural towns and a whole bunch of fun in the Sun ending in the small town of Mitchell, OR - The Gateway to the Painted Hills: As this is a two day drive, hotel reservations are necesary. There is an event happening during the time we will be in town, as you can imagine in small rural towns, lodging will be limited and at a premium. There are no room blocks or pricing available, but lodging options are below... DO NOT DELAY!!

We will be starting in the Parkrose Elmers Restaurant
Departure time will be 9:20am; do NOT be late .

There will be an optional breakfast for anyone interested at 8:00am

We'll begin our drive heading over and waving to snow-capped Mt Hood on our way into Central Oregon.

As we venture deep into the sage brush territory, we'll drop our tops (if they're not already down) to enjoy the warm breeze and dry desert air

We'll be making the most of the endless curves and twists as we leave the small ghost town of Shaniko. This is a fairly challenging drive involving tight corners, switchbacks and a need to watch for bicyclists, and other oncoming cars on some of the tighter sections.

Finally landing in the small town of Mitchell Oregon to enjoy some country hospitality.
