Must not go...must not go...cannot trade in my S2000...must not go...must not go...drowling over the new Boxster S...must not go...must not go...
I think it would be a bad idea for me to go. Porsche has made all of the right changes to the '05 Boxster which fix all the things I didn't like about the old body style (and one of the reasons I have the S now). That and the ceramic brakes , I need to stay away. My oldest will be in college in 2.5 yrs and I need to pay for that. Argh!

We could still go and leave our wallets at home...

Not my wallet I'm worried about. It would be my credit line. I could put a new S2000 on my credit card, but not the Boxster.
Interesting about the brakes, I had heard that they were THE hot item on this car. Longevity, stopping power and of course those way too cool yellow calipers. I'd get it in the Cobalt Blue metallic paint.

They are on the second generation now. But, I did some more research. Sounds like they are good for like 2000 track miles versus 1000 track miles for the cast rotors. But replacement ceramic rotors are like $8000.00 and the pads are $500+ for a set.
Way out of what I need to be spending. Granted I can afford the car, but if I'm tracking it regularly, I won't be able to afford the yearly maintenance. ARGH!

Thanks for the info, Jim. By the way have you seen pics of the Boxster coupe/ C7S? I'm not sure if they are the same car or two seperate models from Porsche but the C7S sounds amazing... should fall nicely in line between the Boxster S and 911. <--- just where I would like to be :

C7S is a baby 911. See these:

But it sounds like it is using the Boxster engine, and maybe some suspension pieces.
