Default PCA AutoX 5-15-2011

Here's a few I took..

Can't get any simpler than this..

And our fun was cut short because someone took out the timing box...

And what do I see on my way home!?

Now... another thing. I got an app called Harry's Laptimer, and I thought I'd give it a try. I think it is pretty cool! I didn't have a windshield mount for the phone so I couldn't get any video at the autox, but here's some of the data it can give you:

And here is a quick video I took coming off an on-ramp on my way home. I think this would work as a poor man's Go Pro, if I can make the mount a bit more stable and vibration resistant.

Awesomeness Andrey! Below is my video marking my return to AutoX in an S2K! Unfortunately, my GoPro's battery only lasted for three runs during the first heat (the first run was a wash due to technical difficulties). Best time of the day (before the timing equipment was eliminated) was 72.1 sec. (heat 1/run 3). However, my driving abilities in this video are mediocre at best (still getting a feel for the car again). I'll have to bring my "A-Game" next time. Props to Chris Mills (LowFlyin'/'02 BB) for running a 68.X sec. lap (second fastest car of the day I believe).

BTW, I apologize for the weird crackling sound. Something on the camera's case must have been loose. I'll track it down before the next event.

Temporally unavailable.

Aww I could have hurt some Viper owner feelers today.

What car took out the timing lights?

With Harry's Lap TImer you can do the overlay with video other than what was shot with the iphone too.

If you're interested I can explain the process.

E.Pie,

The Black MR2 that goes to these events is the one that got loose on the back straight and wiped out the timing gear.

The iphone is probably the best video camera I have at the moment.. I have a point and shoot with HD video capability but I don't have a tripod suction cup mount for it yet.

I'd have to see the official results, but I don't think the Mustang got a chance to best his 69.6 from the morning session before the timer was taken out.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you maintained the FTD.
