Default OKC S2K Meet

Mark your calendars! Our agenda is as follows:

Tulsans, let's meet at Jackson Park (NE corner of 91st and Garnett) at 9:30 a.m. Don't forget your Pikepasses, monies, cameras and two-way radios if you have 'em.

11:30 a.m. - lunch at Interurban Classic Grill (map)
1:00 p.m. - Oklahoma Centennial Mustang National
3:00 p.m. - Pole Position Raceway (indoor karts)
5:00 p.m. - group photos by Lake Overholser
6:00 p.m. - beverages at Dolebludger's
later in the evening - maybe check out OKC's street scene, if there is one

Please post if you plan on attending. We just need to get an idea so reservations at the restaurant can be made.

Many thanks to dolebludger (Richard) for helping me coordinate all this!

Edit: Also FYI, the following day, Sunday, April 22nd, is Import Face-Off. If there's enough interest, maybe we can all roll up there together. If interested in showing for Best Club Participation, see the IFO thread.

List of Attendees:

1. dolebludger (Richard)
2. JulieU (Julie)
3. Driv300mph (Troy)
4. keprunited8 (Alex)
5. S2FiONE (Vin) + 4
6. nismo300zx (Walter)
7. Bugsweat (Casey)
8. humbles2k (Enrique)
9. wu01ok (Joe) + 1

Since this site is going to be down during this meet and the two days preceding it, I started a new thread on the other site for reference whenever this site goes offline. See http://forums.s2kca.com/showthread.php?p=177666.

This is open to all owners and enthusiasts.

Also, I realize some may only be interested in the museum, but not the karts and others vice versa... so don't feel obligated to participate in all of the day's activities.

That sounds like a lot of fun! Maybe I can talk the wife into making a trip up to see her family in Ponca City and stopping in for that on the way

All:

I am also working on another viewing of a "car collection" or sorts that we can view after the museum, IF I can swing it. It is a specialized dealer who has a stock (indoors) of 50's to 80's cars for sale like MGs, Healys, Jags, Ferraris, Mercedes, perhaps a Rolls or Bently, and some oddball stuff like Truimphs and Morris's. Worth the seeing, and only a couple of quick miles from the private museum. Question is, this dealer is only open on Saturday sometimes, and I won't know for a while if it will be open on April 21st. If the dealership will be open, this might be a half hour stop.

The private museum is really worthwhile. The collection, as to pre 1920 cars, is better than any I've seen in the world, Including the Prince's collection in Monte Carlo, Monaco (and yup, I've seen it.) The owner will be there to answer questions on how he obtains parts and does the restoration on clearly obsolete cars. When I toured this museum with another car club, I was struck by the fact that many of his techniques would have relevance to the work we do sometimes modding our cars.

The "beer at my house" is dependent on whether my wife has it torn up too badly with her spring remodeling projects. If the house in workable, we'll do it, as it is literally a stones throw from the photo place by the lake.

Thanks,
Richard
