I PM'd you

There is a locked gate with a fence. That is about it. Amazing what has been left to rust.

Sure wish we had gotten a photo of the two headed calf, but when they have six legs they can really run fast.

"Although the nuclear material was removed from the site in 1972, the site is plagued by residual radiation and chemicals. However, there is no definite timetable for when the decommissioning, which will cost approximately sixteen million dollars, will be carried out."

And i was thinking about jumping that little fence next spring haha...

Oh I forgot to tell you the SEFOR plant is on HWY 265 NE of Strickler, Arkansas. It shows up nicely on google maps.

Awesome group and drive! I had a blast. Its going be sad missing the upcoming ones... maybe I'll just make the drive through the desert to make it?

Thanks to everybody!

*sorry I didn't stay for the dinner. After that drive I was ready for a drink.

Towards the end of the day, the route took us onto I-40 for a couple of miles. Some cops happen to be set up in the heavily wooded median: first one was hidden amongst the trees/weeds and behind a guardrail while lasering and radioing to the other two patrol cars a few hundred feet up the highway also in the median. I dunno what the laws are in Arkansas, but in Oklahoma this hiding/waiting game isn't considered ethical law enforcement... at least according to my defensive driving class instructor. Thankfully (yet regretfully) only one ticket was issued to one driver.

Looks like fun was had by all. Beautiful scenic views all around. Sorry to hear 'bout the ticket.

If there are no objections, I'm going to post some of your photos and comments on the other site.
