Defensive Driving Course - March 7th
It's been almost three years since I took a defensive driving course, so my insurance discount is about to expire. I plan on taking the same one I took last time which I highly recommend everyone attend at some point. If you have points on your driving record, this is a great way to get those reduced.
More info can be found here: www.oksafety.org.
It costs $50 and classes are held in Tulsa every first and third Saturday of every month from 8am to 3pm and in OKC, every Saturday of every month. The next class is on February 21st so I plan on going then or on March 7th. Anyone who wants to go with, I'll contribute $5 to your cost.

I took one of these classes in OKC as well. Got pulled over for doing 134 in my Neon a couple years back and the court made me go to "Precision Driving School"; I was like 'okay'!!! It was a blast and it kept the points off my driving record, and gave me a disount on my insurance. Never thought getting pulled over would save me so much money.....

I'll have to look into it and see if my insurance offers a discount. But then I'm in process of evaluating their claims process after the windy Tuesday afternoon.

Yea, this particular Defensive Driving course put on by OSC is classroom only. That Precision Driving School sounds like a lot of fun tho! That's the in-car class where you have an instructor with you and they teach you things like threshold braking and stuff, right? If so, I was led to believe that those aren't open to the general public, but if anyone has info to contradict that, please let me know. I'd be interested in that.

I was looking into this so I called my insurance company (State farm). Basically I would save about 40 bucks every 6 months on coverage for the S2k. Then if the wife did the course we would then get credit for the Nissan Frontier and save about 16 to 20 bucks every six months. According to my insurance dudette this course is good for 3 years before you need to renew at my age. Overall I would save between 190 to 310 bucks over 3 years on insurance.
Somin for everyone to think about.

I just called (918-622-4771) and pre-registered. If you plan on attending, please do so, too (preferably by March 5th). All they ask for is your name and phone number. The $50 fee (cash or money order) isn't due until the day of the class.
