Make sure that the timing belt and water pump have beed replaced! It's not cheap. Also, stay away from 95 cars since the AC is R12 and if there is a problem with it, it will need to be converted to 134A. On a ford or GM it can be cheap to convert, about 300 bucks, but on most of the older imports you have to change the compressor and most of the lines and is cost prohibitive to do on an older model.

Isn't there a big price difference between the 3.5RL and the 2.5TL? It would make more sense if you're comparing the RL with a 3.2TL.
In any event, the 2.5L five cylinder was from the Vigor, while the 3.2 V6 was used in the last Legend. Both are left-over motors that are outdated. The 2.5 is especially noisy and rough compared to the 3.2. In addition, the first-gen TL is not roomy. Headroom and kneeroom are compromised and it is difficult getting in the back due to the tight angle formed by the C-pillar and rear frameless window. My dad used to drive one and I hit my head multiple times.
Do you need to transport clients? If so, then the 3.5RL would be better. It has a much bigger interior, softer ride, and more overall refinement. If I remember correctly, it also has stability/traction control. On another note, have you considered a Lexus ES300? The second-gen ES was introduced shortly after the first-gen TL. I think it's a better car.
Wait, you're too young to drive these cars. They belong to your father. Get a WRX!!

I thought 94 was the last year for R12. I have a 95 Integra, and I'm sure its R134, because I had it leak checked and recharged last year.

Timmy the second pic looks like a Vigor, not a TL. Stay away from those, they rust.
The prior gen TLs were pretty tough cars. Probably a good buy.
