Use it at work, school, wherever you're going to be out and it might snow. It is a lot easier to get snow off when you can just lift the cover, rather than having to brush and sweep and put swirls in your paint.
Something like a waterproof Covercraft that is fitted to the car is ideal. They roll up and fit in a small bag and can be easily toted in the trunk....
I have this one - it's great and well worth the money. The one made for the S has an antenna pocket, and side pockets for the mirrors. I use mine at work in the summer - really protects the rag top from the intense summer sun!
Car Cover
Get the AP1 rims and Blizzaks. You're better off with 16" snows in AP1 sizes. I run 16" Ap1 rims on my Ap2 when I have the Dunlop Winters mounted. Narrower tires cut through snow better.
One other thing to consider - road salt. You'll want to get it off ASAP. That is where a HT is so nice - with an HT you can run the S through a touchless car was no problem. With the Rag Top only, get something like the Mr.Clean system that will let you wash and dry quickly. Again, it's about preserving the car.

Definitly can be done. With the above mentioned equipment you should should be a good as anything else and long as your skills are on par. I have done it in a couple S's and Have a couple customers that warrior the winter!

I also drove my S2k daily for 3 years. I used Dunlop Winter Sport M3 tires on a set of AP1 sized wheels. My daily commute is 72 miles round trip (Hilliard to Marysville).
The only issue I ever had was digging out the end of my driveway to get the car out. In the years I had the car we had a few storms with 6+ inches of snow and while it wasn't fun driving the car, it wasn't dangerous as long as you paid attention.

I've never had a problem with the front bumper bottoming, but I also do not have a front lip.
One other piece of advice - don't wait too long after Labor Day to order snow tires - they are usually available in limited quantities in our sizes, and get snapped up fairly quickly....
