We should almost split the Ohio forum now..

Its hard trying to keep the Cinci crowd out of here.. They are just glorified Kentuckians.

Just kidding.

If everyone is so concerned about the loss of the forums traffic or lack of enthusiaum in "meets" or whatever.
Then you need to give people a reason to go and join us. Lets have scheduled monthly gatherings. CLE/COL/CIN can all have their own. Then maybe twice or three times a year lets have a good Ohio gathering. The local gatherings dont have to be a big event, just a reason for everybody too see each other, meet new members and get a beer or 4.
Everybody talks a good game, but there isnt much action. I know everybody has commitments and families and whatever, but since when have you needed a reason to see your friends or go for a drive.

If we try and it fails, then we at least know to give up. At this point we have no idea. Scoots is right, its not the same as it was even when I joined 4 or 5 years ago. Maybe we open it up to meeting other clubs in your local area, not just cars with H badges. Z-owners or Z4 owners. Who ever. P-cars.. Lotus.. whoever Some of those clubs are so small, they wouldnt mind being included in a car scene like ours that has so many more resources and enthuisists involved.

Just because we drive one of the best cars ever made, doesn not mean we need to be elitests. We can socialize with "the other guys" too.

I think the OKI group does local planning on the "other" site!

So that those northern Ohio folks (glorified Canadians) don't show up!

A lot of us used to meet in Dublin during the second Saturday in July for a car show. However, it's been a little thin during the past year.

I believe when the cars get parked for the winter, traffic on the site decreases. We need to keep it seperate and do our best to keep the Ohio group alive.

For what it's worth, we had meets every Friday night in various locations around the greater Chicagoland area this past summer / fall. While none of the events were "huge", people knew they happened and if they couldn't make it to one, they'd try to make it to the next. Sometimes it was 2 or 3 people, sometimes it was 10, but it kinda helped stir activity. We still had other meets thrown in now and then for those that couldn't make any Friday nights, but that was kind of "the staple". Obviously an area doesn't have to do them EVERY week, or even every other week, but it was nice to keep hanging out with a lot of the "regulars" as well as bring some new people into the mix.
