I went out to the how to forum and read how to do an oil change. Only problem was the 29 mm bolt on the oil pan. I have the Shitonyou grease too. Came with the Hardtop. You can do your own dude. Not a big deal. Besides, if you came over we wold have a ray moment and your car would fall off the jack stands. If you go to Dave's, he'd pull your bumper 3-4 times to get it "just right".

I doubt I could do it by myself the first time - I usually end up f'n stuff up and having to pay someone to do it the right way anyway. If you would have anytime in the coming month to show me, i'd appreciate it.

If you want synthetic, Mobil One is good and you can find that anywhere. Walmart often times has the 5 quart jug for $18.88. The Andersons carries Amsoil. I've used both.

The local Honda dealers have Shin-Etsu but it is much cheaper through Hardtopguy. His oil filters are also much cheaper. Get your stuff together. I should have time this week or weekend. It takes longer to get your car on 4 jackstands than it does to change oil.

That's a great list. I'll add one....

#30 Latch your top.
I leave my top unlatched so that the rubber seals don't sit compressed all winter. Not positive if it matters.

Great post - Though curious about putting the car in reverse. What is the difference between first and reverse for long periods of time?

I also put soft cotton towels down between the car cover and the paint.

I put a ring of mothballs around the car. Also in past cars, and if I can find some, I'll put a big bag of silica on each side of car, with the windows closed, to keep the inside dried out.

I'll gather the supplies - and would really enjoy meeting and going for a drive with you all. Appreciate all the tips on storing the S for the winter. Leave the top latched, or unlatched?

Do you leave your trunk and doors open as well? They have the same type of seals.
