Warranty on Tranny on "00-01" Accord!
A couple months ago my wife's "00" Accord (just 25,000 miles) had to have the tranny replaced, well this didn't sit right with me as I thought Honda's don't break (usually). Not a problem with Honda as they replaced it FREE (still under warranty). At the time of replacement I asked the service dept. if the new tranny now had a new warranty on it, and they said NO.
Well the other day we got a notice from HONDA that the "00-01" Accords have had tranny problems and they have extended the warranty to 7 yrs or 100,000 miles. Thank you Honda!
Odessy and Prelude also had same problem with same warranty change!

The reason that the service department said no on a new warranty was due to the fact the original warranty is still in effect. If your transmission was replaced under customer pay then an additional 3/36kmi would be in effect.
