I was there on my bike once and it rained so hard it felt like I was being shot. That comes out of no where too, caught us by supprise because the whole day was sunny.

Referring to your global warming comment, I was watching a television show (PBS or Discovery) about the melting glaciers in Alaska due to global warming and the effects on the animal habitat. The show said there were major glaciers that are 10's of thousands of years old that are melting at an accelerating rate that will make them a memory in about 50 years.

Based on that information, we are warming up on average relative to the last 10 thousands years or so.

My joking comment wasn't intended to imply that global warming isn't happening. It's just that I think we should get to enjoy the positive effects of it (more warm top down weather ) before the oceans rise and drown us all.
