I know I played my best in HS when our band played well.
I remember one time, when our flute section just nailed their rendition of "Islands in the stream "by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton ....It was so awesome! The other team's crowd was just stunned! I must of had 20 catches that game. It was very inspiring.
Dude, before you pop a vein out of your head...I am just ribbing you. I take a lot of heat at work because I am not a big OSU fan. I do not band wagon when it comes to sports teams. I have my MU stuff in my office and I catch hell all year long. I am well trained in pressure points with OSU fans. To be honest, I do not hate OSU football. I do not like their style of football, it is boring to me. I am a Michigan and Michigan State hater..so show me some love.

I'm not saying the band helps the QB in his decision making, or helps a receiver reel in a tough pass, but does contribute to the overall game day experience at OSU. The OSUMB and the athletic department have a great relationship which not all schools have. When the Shoe was renovated, the AD gave us the opportunity to have a new facility for the band (I think the price tag was around $10 mil, partially funded by the AD, partially by the Steinbrenner's) and a cool astroturf practice field. The AD also invites the band to their recruiting sessions at Woody Hays and to practices during the year. Plus, the band draws bigger crowds to St. John Arena before the game than what the basketball program did at times... Not quite the same as high school, but I digress...
I certainly can respect the fact that you support Marshall and appreciate your hatred of Michigan and Michigan State. Tell your co-workers to go themselves.
Oh, and just to forewarn you, Marshall's football program is going to go to shit now that you have a former Buckeye coaching the team.
That's it from me,
Dave

So far, I am not much of a Mark Snyder fan, but I will give him time. And when I played, I could give a sheot about the band. The only resaon we liked them is because their parents would come and fill the stands to watch the half time show. OSU needs to move Block O back to where it was. They broke tradition when they moved them.
