The gel goes on dull and becomes glossy after a few minutes. You do not need to cake it on either. Just apply 1/10 of what Tim puts on his hair and you'll be fine.

I believe in "saucing" my tires, always!
The car does not look completely clean till the wheels are clean, the wheel wells black and the tires sauced!

I voted yet, but I only put Meguire's gel on the Acura. The tires on the Rio are so new, that i just wash them and leave them natural.....for now.
Yes, the gel will spray up the side of the car if you goop it on thick, that's why I wipe it down after a couple hours.
