Default Tire Blew Out

I had a tire blow out on 90E today...and I mean BLOW OUT!!!....when I got the tire off there was a puncture on the top of the tire...I obviously ran something over that punctured it and then once the air was let out the inside tire wall exploded 360* around......I was on the highway going about 70....the car remained stable (as stable as you can get for having an exploded tire) as I immediately pulled to the side of the road....somehow, the remaining rubber kept in contact with the wheel resulting in no damage to the wheel.....when I had a new tire put on and balanced the wheel still showed to be fine......I am just pissed cause no one stocked a reputable tire in 255-40-17 so I had to pay top dollar for a total POS......now I will have to order 2 new tires for the rear....whatever.......I just needed to vent....I'll post some pics of the tire once I get home, my office comp will not let me upload camera phone pics to this site

initial puncture

that caused the tire to run flat which led to this

It's bad enough to replace a tire much less the wheel. at least there was no damage there

Since your tire size and manufacture is so common I am supprised no one had it in stock Next time pay attention to the road
