Actually, I think the GTI is a more mature looking design (and I don't mean demographically). There is something not complete or missing from the Scirocco, almost as though it's a teenager with pimples trying to figure out its place in life.

Totally agree ("dead hookers" aside ). I think the CR-Z is a great-looking car but if I were in the market for a fuel-efficient small car.....the Fit is Go!
I had a 04 r32 back in the day before my S and I really enjoy it even though it spent a a lot of time at Dave Walters VW. I think that's why I got a S, VW's are fun cars but the older ones can't stand a beating like a Honda.

^^^ I can feel that... My next car in the garage will be a Turbocharge 240hp, rwd, 35 mpg, 2500lbs 2011 FT-86.
It has a older brother in my garage right now that I need to introduce.
On a side note I work in cleveland which is a good 45 miles from my house. Cruise set at 67 MPH on ECO mode and got 69 mpg. Granted I just install some volk ecoline ce28 at 10lbs a rim. If I had some lighter tires I'm sure I can do over 70mpg easy in my Pruis.

Dave went with me to look at a white 08 or 09 R32 at Germain last summer. Guy bought it, drove it 500 miles and traded it in. Didn't last a day on the lot.
The most distinguishing item of each:
2004 = all were 6 spd manuals
2008 = all were 6 spd DSG
With 5000 units available each model year, there's just enough to go around for the enthusiasts that know them and are willing to pay (they are not the great deals on the market, typically).
