I vote for heading straight down to Knoxville on the highway this time. The route we used last time was a lot of fun to do once, but I think that the timing of it all could discourage some folks from joining our caravan.
If we take a nice direct route, we won't have to force you Cleveland guys to get up too early, but we'll still be able to get down there fairly early in the afternoon, check in, and then have plenty of free time to run the Dragon. Squeezing in a few runs on Friday is nice because you shouldn't see the same volume of traffic that you will surely see once the weekend begins.
Just my $0.02.

Joe ;I couldn't agree more.If some of the guys want to follow Westsidebilly outa Corbin KY. for the ride of their life that's cool but I will go the more direct route to Knoxville
As a side note the route Westsidebilly took us on last time was some the most beautifull country I've ever seen and the "side ride" was every bit as nice if not nicer than Route 26

the scenic drive was definitely worth it for me (although i'm sure you guys got a kick out of watching my head bang wsb's window all the way down ).
this time though, i think wsb will take a direct route as well

I'm up for this drive.
My suggestion about the scenic route is that driving notes be issued with meeting points along the way. This way we are not driving like grandmas to make sure everyone is still together.

Mr. Clean!
I added you to the list
I think this time around, we're going straight there so we should be ok.
the idea of setting up certain checkpoints is not a bad idea.
anyone have thoughts on this?
