Default Shipping mounted tires

I found an out of state buyer for my winter tires / wheels. Anyone have any advice on the best way to package them for shipment and the cheapest / best way to send them?

It's easy. Cut out cardboard donuts the size of the wheels and place them front and back putting thin foam sheets between the face and the cardboard. Tape them or wrap them with twine. The tires will protect the wheels, you just need to protect the finish of the rims.

What's the correct name for that sticky wrapping tape stuff? Not having a lot of luck finding it online. Where can I buy it?

The large plastic/shrink wrap?

I'm not sure you need anything other than what i described. Tire Rack and Tire Discounters ship all of their wheel and tire packages this way,

Yes...the large plastic shrink wrap stuff. Where can I find this? What you posted earlier makes sense.

It comes in large rolls. I've seen it at some of the office supply stores around town.

Have you tried calling a UPS store? They have packaging material available, but I'm not sure if they have the wrap you are looking for.

My experience with UPS Store / Mailboxes Etc is that they are insanely overpriced.

This is true.

As UBETIT said, I would recommend using tape and cardboard cut-outs shaped like the wheel, at least on the wheel face. For extra protection you could put some packaging material (felt-like material) that is sold at the U-Haul stores around town for about $6. You should always clean the wheel face prior to packaging because vibrations and movements in transit can cause fine scratching on the wheel face. It has happened to me.
