I'm not sure if he has or not. He did mention that the promise to his wife was something that he'd have to work out, but it wouldn't have to stop him from doing what Sebastien Bourdais did last year, which is street-and-road-course-only. I'd love to see him join Indy and give the series it's much needed boost.

I agree with everything you said except the "much needed" part.. Do you think it's hurting right now? I was thinking that the racing is good, there are some unique drivers and loyal fans, and the stands seem to be pretty filled up... well, for the most part.....in kentucky, for example, i don't know how much rubens being a driver would fill the stands (well, besides the fact that it's an oval)....

I think the series has gotten better than it was but to have someone like Rubens join could help IndyCar relive an era when big-name F1 drivers like Emerson Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet, and Nigel Mansell came over to race. I think it would give IndyCar some publicity and draw more American fans that tend to follow F1. I just say that it could use a boost because the last season ended on a very bad note.

Don't discount that this may just be a favor to Kanaan, with him testing the car. Also benefits Rubens to keep his name out there.
Aren't these two guys like step-brothers, or something like that?

I'd love to see Rubens come over and race. I'd much rather see him, then some rich punk kid who crashes all the time (i.e. EJ Viso) and takes a good seat from a deserving driver. Plus is would hopefully get some extra exposure to the F1 fans.
How cool would it be for one of the F1 teams do an aero kit for next year and run a car in the Indy 500. That really wets my appetite. Imagine a Mclaren Honda car....

Is Ken Block next? If they are gonna do a PR move, might as well get Pastrana or Block or one of those guys.
Maybe Rob Dyrdek and big black can drive that 2 seater in a race.
