Ken,
You might want to do Route 555 instead of Route 26. In the years past route 26's pavement hasn't been the best (lots of lose gravel on the road). After the route 26 run last year the wife and I took Route 555 back and the pavement was so much better. If you do take 555 make sure you stop at the miner's memorial with the bucket from "Big Muskie" used to be the Largest Coal mover.
Here is a link from a motor cycle forum on Route 555

Another link with a description of the road

P.S. I'm trying to talk the wife into letting me drive with you this weekend

26 is not bad right now. It's definitely not as good as 555 (555 was repaved within the past few years, so it's no contest), but 26 only had a few short stretches where I would consider it below par. The road is still fun enough to be worth the run.
If you can plan it that way, go to Marietta one way, come back the other.
Also note that 555 may be completely closed just 4 miles south of Zanesville. They were supposed to be rebuilding a bridge there, shutting down all traffic starting the middle of June. I don't know if they're done or not. The rest of it (all of the fun stuff) is open and in fine shape.

^Nice, I'm hitting 555 on the way home too. The rocks and surface on 26 wasn't that bad last year, with the exception of a few spots. If you're really concerned just keep a little distance with the car in front of you.

Nomlas,
I think I will be joining you on Sat you want to meet at Belden Village Mall like last time say 9:00-9:30? Anyone else in the Akron/Cleveland going that want to meet up here?
This will be a one day trip for me not going to spend the night in Marietta
