Visited the Gateway Arch today.

Beautiful views from the top.

Damn it is a longgggg way down. And I don't like heights!!

Lastly, could this be Popeye's new ride????

That's it. Off the DBR tomorrow after a tour of the Corvette plant.

<--- Is jealous. I stopped at the arch on my way back from Oklahoma a few months ago. Was going to go up, but it was closed.

Leaving the Dragon via Blue Ridge Parkway

Five of us heading north.

At the highest point on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
There is that blue car again. I think it is following me...

Someone is always butting into my pictures!

A few "turkeys" I met along the way.

Can you say venison?

Where the hell did the road go?

Beautiful old mill. There was a still on the property but it did work. Damn!

That's the end of the parkway.

Skyline Drive next. Front Royal here I come

The Skyline Drive

And it begins

Most of the day it was hazy but still had beautiful views

It is all down hill from here

I believe that there was a bear in the road right there. See it? Not it ran away before I got the camera out. Damn, no one is going to believe me!!

Last tunnel and yes I did get loud. I think I scared the people in the car coming the opposite way

New River Gorge and Bridge

It looms behind the trees.

Damn that is a big bridge.

I went down in the gorge to see the bottom of the bridge?!?!

I took this picture so that you can see the size of the boulders in and around the river.

This speaks for itself. What a beautiful engineering accomplishment.

Can you say side trip??

On to S2KDays after a tour or two of some local distilleries then home Sunday.
