Recomend a place to live in Canton for 3 months
Hey guys, I'm going to be staying in Canton for 3 months to complete an internship. Any suggestions on places to live; I would prefer to have a garage.
Thanks in advance!

Hmm, a little too far south for me to give any specifics, the Akron guys should be able to give good input. I would guess that you would want to be north, somewhere in North Canton/Green/Jackson twp. It gets pretty rural pretty quick when you head south and/or east.

Where will you be doing your internship?
North Canton is very nice
So is Perry township to the west
Hartville is 10 miles north and has a lot of up scale apartments and condos also some great rural roads
I'd steer clear of the south end mostly older homes surrounded by industrial tracts

Ha ...I worked at the Dueber ave bearing plant right out of HS back when $3.75hr was a hell of a lot of money
I think the R&D deal is near the airport ;if you're going to be there I'd recommend North Canton

Steve is correct, most of Timken's office/tech is off Shuffel Road @ I-77. Lots of stuff right arond there - retail, restaurants, hotels, office. When will you be coming up here?

Green is very nice (grew up there), the Beldon Village area is ok, stray too far and it will remind you more of Canton instead of North Canton (not a good thing). Jackson, as mentioned 8_ball, is another upscale community. There should actually be some decent places within 5 miles of where you will be, 10 at the most.

If your going to be working at Timken Research off of Mount Pleasant the easiest would be Green, North Canton, or Jackson. I live in Green and I work across I-77 from Timken.
Home owner and Income taxes in all 3 of those cities will be higher than some of the other surronding cities. There are other advantages to living close - It is nice to be able to go home for lunch and relax (5 min commute).
I would stay away from Canton it is about 15-20 min south. Traffic is usually not to bad since they widened I-77 to 3 lanes.
Shoot me an e-mail if you want more information.
