Default Ran into a few Pigs on Vacation

So I admit to being raised in a Vette family. My dad and his brother always had them. One of my best friends has a '59, and the best man in my wedding has a C4 ZR1. So now you know my personality defect. I have a soft spot for older Vettes. Anyway, on the way home from vacation, we needed a place to stay overnight, and I "happened" to select Bowling Green, KY. This affored a chance to go to the National Corvette Museum, however, I missed the plant tour by hours. Anyway, a few pics

Anybody need a ZR1? They had about 6 ZR1's lined up for delivery. You can take delivery at the museum and also get a VIP tour of the factory

This is one of the 6 factory 1963 "Gulf" racers. 2 went to Gulf, 2 to Penske, and 2 to someone I can't remember

Original ZR1

Calloway Vette

500,00th and 1 millionth produced

Nurburing Test Mule for Current version

Engine from AMLS Vette's

IMSA Vette

Took my Father in Law. He says these are from his era

Lastly, took this picture, this is just like the car my dad sold 3 months before I turned 16. Hard to believe!

Nice pictures. If I ever get a Corvette, I want to take delivery at the museum.

Great stuff...I debated on taking a detour to DBR this year and stopping by Bowling Green.... I know the Corevette club is doing a trip there this September again...

<----still loves "dad's" C5 Lingenfelter Vette... Popeye would know this.. but when we went to Fort Wayne to pick it up, a certain car enthusiast was having work done to his yellow C5 "sub" covertible...

They have some sort of "homecoming" or something the first week of Sept.

Also, if you go after DBR, the factory tours are on mon, wed, and fri I think. Like 3 times a day. The info is on the museum's website. The factory tour is only 5 bucks, and I was dissapointed that I missed it.
