Rain in Columbus this morning.
My commute from Lewis Center (of Creation) into downtown Columbus normally takes 25-35 minutes on rt-315 in moderate traffic.
UNLESS...
The planets are misaligned to some degree and or, may the good lord forbid, it rains. Well, when it rain in Columbus, IQs behind the wheel drop to subterranean levels. You get three Battlestar sized SUVs driving next to each other, across every lane, at a startling 50 mph (in 65 zones). Then, this trio of soccermom-mobiles, all riding high on their off-road tires, slows below 40 mph to negotiate the hospital curves (a well banked s-turn that even unskilled drivers can take north of the speed limit). After the curves, they manage to catch a little wind in their respective sails and we all accelerate to about 35 knots.
Now, keep in mind there are about 30 bazillion cars lined up behind these behemoths. As we all approach the I-670/Neil Avenue ramps at just over 45 mph. All three of these elephant pilots realize they all need to take the same exit. At the same time. So, all three hit the brakes. At the same time. The level of confusion among these three oil-tanker captains was astounding. Should I speed up or should I slow down? Should you speed up or should you slow down? No, no, I will speed up and so will you. No, no. U-boat captain #3 wants to go faster...
Well, all three managed to come to a stop and the frieght train of commuters behind them did as well, likely causing numerous fender-benders behind us. I followed an Infiniti I30 in front of me onto the right berm, around the harbor whales up the ramp and made my getaway. 3-4 cars followed us. I don't know how things worked out after that and I honestly don't care. I think I will write a letter to the governor asking to have highway and rain testing be mandatory for drivers in this state.
Good morning everyone. Have a wonderful day.

Now the wind is gusting up to 50 mph. I am leaving now to hopefully avoid people who can't drive when it is windy.
Plus this building is swaying so much I am getting seasick.

Poor Scott. Do you want Uncle Ray to bring you a Galardo Maisto car from Atlanta to make you feel all better?
