I am just bustin to tell someone who might care...
I was in Shelby Ohio on st rt 39 and saw this stunning car up head and had to see what it was, drop a gear and go. caught up to it, at a distance I thought it might be a Ferrari. Wow was it cool, ran along side of it, it drifted into my lane for a second, no issue though. It was White with Blue strips down the center, side pipes. the way the rear of the car was chopped of was just sublime...
Got home and looked it up, 6 were made and they were ferrari killers, wow to be next to something like that on the road! Google and pictures come right up. Probably a replica, but it sure was cool...

I think what you seen was a repo of the original Shelby Daytona Coupe.

One of these original Shelby's sold at Auction a few months ago for around seven million. This auction car came from the cincy area and was purchased by someone in Cleveland. Doubt if the one you saw was a real Shelby, probably a kit car, real ones don't normally get driven, unless it's across the auction block. What a really neat piece of automotive racing history.

Factory Five Racing makes a very popular replica. Think they call it the Type 65 Coupe.
Likely one of theirs, as they seem to be very reputable in the kit business. Their kits seem to get finished and driven instead of sitting in garages in pieces.

The kit runs about $20,000 and you can use a number of different Ford powerplants and transmissions. I was going to build a Factory Five before I chose a different project. If your mechanical and have some connections you can build one of these kits complete for around $30,000.
