Wow, with that cover in place, you can even smuggle illegal immigrants inside the car.

Better yet, cut an opening on the driver's side, and go for the old school Jag racer look.

Ha. Well, that's good to know. I live in north Columbus/Dublin area (wrong side of the river from what I hear) and had been thinking "great, some punk kids are going around stealing our d@mn oil caps"!

If it makes you feel any better, I lost a hotel key card in the slot by the cup holder (when the little spring loaded cover thingy was open), so I have that in the tunnel somewhere.

should be easy to just pull up the center console and fish that out.

just grab the leather covered elbow-rest area under the edge and pull straight up. it'll pop right off and forward enough to get under there. When you're done, pop it back into place.

*goes out to check on his oil-cap tightness*

oh, and top-up unless it's 5 minutes into the bank or something like that.

I once left it down in a quiet residential neighborhood and someone stole my damned stock shift knob - something they wouldn't have bothered with had the top been up and the car locked, I'm sure. I've heard of plenty of DW happenings with the top down even in high-traffic areas (chinese food thrown all over inside, people peed inside, etc)... That's some serious BS.

Thanks for the info. I noticed that the elbow rest started squeaking a while back, perhaps I can fix that while fishing out that key card.

That is some serious BS, people messing with cars like that. I'd love to catch someone in the act. One time I saw a couple people who appeared to have moved here from a country south of the US who were walking on the street hockering big lugies on cars as they drove by. Luckily I was in my beater - they got the back bumper a little.
