Oh thank goodness. How come we don't need it this year? In the off chance that a horrific monsoon sweeps through the area?

I just dragged out my boot cover and put it on.

Oh well at least I know it still fits.

I saw that on the news on Wednesday. I hope your homes and everything else is okay.
House is fine.
But the plant where I work is toast. Water + electricity = bad!!! I am the electrical engineer for the plant, guess who gets the shaft?

Rules and info for the parade lap on Sunday:

- every car can do this, some will have drivers, some will have a VIP and some will go solo. Mid-OH and the IRL will let all cars do a lap.
- long pants and closed-toed shoes are not necessary
- you will have to sign a release before you go out
- no drinking alcohol before
- no passengers are allowed. this is for safety, space, and legal reasons.

This is how it will go down, so PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
- have you car clean, top down, and wind block removed before 1pm. they will pick us up and escort us to the pregrid area (by the lake) via the paddock at 1pm.
- the driver's parade should start at 1:16pm
- the first car will wait by the IRL announcement truck while a driver is announced, then the driver will walk to your car and get in. you will then slowly drive them around (with no pace car ahead) at about 20-25mph (the driver will tell you if you're going too fast). Slow down around the grand stand area and large crowds. You will then pull back into the pit area and drop the driver off where they tell you to - which will either be by the IRL truck or their pit stall. you will then drive down to ALMOST the end of pit lane and turn left to go up the paddock and then wait for the rest of the cars to finish. we will be escorted back out of the paddock as a group. the last car should exit at 1:31. this is how it will go if things aren't running behind. if things are running behind, they will let me know and we will have to speed up the process.
try to keep consistant gaps with the car in front of you, until you get near the pits. DON'T SPEED WITH THE DRIVER/VIP IN THE CAR AND DO NOT HOUND THEM FOR AUTOGRAPHS WHILE DRIVING.

there are 21 drivers and an undetermined amount of VIPs, so i do not have an acurate account of how many cars will not have a passenger. i cannot assure you who will be in your car because the VIPs may intermingle within the drivers.

I'll post a list later this evening. If you have any questions, ask me at 8am tomorrow in the corral.
