I just made reservations for 25 at the Timbers restaurant at Salt Fork State Park Lodge for noon. FYI.

I was thinking about that - what if there's a convention at the Lodge and the restaurant is full?

Problem solved.

Carmen,

I'll be attending the run in the sightseeing group. I'll need a room, and I'm bringing a guest.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ

The drive is just a few days away and I wanted to review some last minute stuff:

1) Bring FRS radios. Everyone should have one. For those who have more than one, please bring your extra for others to use. (these devices are not water piks. When using them, hold them a few inches away from your mouth, otherwise you sound like SanMarinoCpe and no one can understand what you are saying. )
2) We will be dividing the "moderate" group into two packs since the majority of the people opted to be in this group. It will be easier to lead a group of 7-8 cars than 14-16. I will be leading the 1st moderate group and Jonas will be leading the 2nd moderate group. I'm just going to randomly assign people to the 2 groups. We will have an opportunity in Woodsfield to re-sort according to driving preference and style.
3) Each of the 3 leaders will exchange cell phone numbers in the event of group separation.
4) Bring cameras. Take pictures early and often.
5) Tradition has been that someone usually volunteers to host the "afterprom" in their room at the Hampton Inn after dinner. I'm looking for volunteers otherwise one of the newbies gets stuck with the honor.
6) Weather: right now the PD says party cloudy and 82 for Saturday and partly cloudy and 84 for Sunday. Given the number of cars and pre-planning, I WILL NOT cancel this event unless the weekend looks like it will be a complete washout. If there is a chance of scattered showers, we will STILL BE A GO.
7) The following people have not faxed their drivers license and insurance card to me yet. Please do so BEFORE Thursday so that I have a chance to get to my office and get them. Asking me to check them at one of the staging areas is a disservice to the other drivers and generally pisses people off.

I don't think we want to make it COMPLETELY random! What happens if Motoo ends up at the front? We'll all be doing 20mph through the turns!

Seriously - how about we let people choose Moderate Group 1 vs. Moderate Group 2, with faster drivers at the front? My tires are getting worn, so I certainly won't be riding up the tailpipe of the first group. Then we'll only need to reshuffle a little when we reach Woodsfield.

How many of you guy/gals are going to meet up at the J.C.Penny outlet Saturday morning. DBNKY and myself are staying at the "Econo Lodge, adjacent the Penny's store, Friday evening. Having dinner at the "94th Aero Squadron" about 9:00P.M. I had the "Magnets" made up for the RUN! They look pretty good. I'll pass them out at Penny's for the drive over to Cambridge, then distribute the rest at the Lodge. See you "ALL" there!!
