[QUOTE=Honda_mann,Feb 2 2006, 02:25 AM]
A roots blower takes the place of the intake manifold on a car. It requires a intake manifold flange and a mounting point for the SC, size up a belt and ship it. EASY as 1 2 3 ..... Anyone that has even touched a s2k in the means of boosting or tuning knows that the biggest hold back on the car is the intake manifold. It holds heat lika mother... that means its a huge restriction for making HP, putting a SC right where that heat soaking SOB is shows you how ass9 those people are right off the bat. Once that SC heats up (which would be by the time you go to the corner) its goin to produce no HP and blow hot air in the engine. Your not goin to cool that thing off anywhere near as fast as the manifold would.

have you ever been for a ride on a sc s2k?????????????

last time i checked i was the one dyno'ing the cars for HTG. Joe and myself have worked on SC s2ks for awhile...

look at all the huge HP cars buddy they make peak HP damn near redline....If you make 300hp at 4000rpm, at redline your goin to have 180-200hp because its goin to nose dive into the ground. thats the way power bands are on root SCs. unless you have a huge V8

whos "steve"???
I'm done with this. We have different goals for our car. You want your horsepower to peak as you need to shift the car. I want good usable power and torque throughout the entire rpm range. It's the same reason I have 4.57 gears. I'll even give up peak HP numbers to do it. It may or may not be possible with the BRP kit. I'll wait and see.

Lets combine the two just as WV has done and stop arguing. Roots for down low and then it switches over to a turbo on the high end.

Where did you get this info? Ever been to an NHRA professional race and watch TopFuel or Funny Car classes run?

Ever venture back into the pits right after their runs and watch them tear an engine down and rebuild it in 45 minutes?

My understanding is Vortech and Comptech did their products for "packaging" reasons ;that is to say to make more power and keep it all under the hood.

Most roots style applications protrude thru the hood and on a sportscar like ours that would look unappealing at best.

Comptech and Vortech make great power but are limited down low like Rich said;much the same way a turbocharger makes it's power. But in retrospect this may be a good thing given the weakness of the S2000 diffs

Think about this, would you really want all that power off idle? Yes but could the car put all that power down to the road?

That is the next question if the" new guys" on the block can solve their quality issues.
all i read was DBAG
