Over the next couple months, I'll be trying to engineer a way to keep the brace AND add a soft top back into the car, so we'll see how that goes. Should be fun...

My friend would be very interested in knowing if that's possible. His '04 is up so if that's feasible, I bet he'd be interested in knowing how it's done. I thought the type s had the rear brace but yeah, if it doesn't, digging up one of those wouldn't work either..

I'm sure it isn't going to be simple, but I think it can be done.

You wouldn't even need to do the electrics, just the frame and top. It would be like a manual top. It would save weight. From what I have read, all you need to do is remove the bracing and bolt the vert top unit in.
