Soooo... Anybody know anybody that has made their S into a track only machine and might have AC and/or Soft top parts sitting around gathering dust?

I wonder if you could find both from a wreck?

I'll definately be looking into that. It might be tough to get both from the same wreck with the parts being on the opposite ends of the car, but it's certainly worth some searching.

One suggestion I was given is too use those parts off my 2002 and sell IT as a "track car". I'd really be afraid of what that would do to resale of the 2002 though.

brand new CR for 24k WOW.

Deals are out there, you just have to find the dealerships who realize the economy. Dealers net anywhere from -15% to + 15% on new car, and around 27% +/- on used depending on what reconditioning is.

at least these were the figures last year.

That's what I was thinking....If I wasn't going through this financial crunch right now, I'd think about unloading my '05 and picking up an '08 or '09... Guess it depends on what the used car market looks like right now.. If an '08 CR is going for $24k, I can only imagine what a used '05 would go for..

Also, I think moving pieces from the '02 would make that car value plummet. My $.02
