first off, i definitely got to get married, might help the rates!! second i went with my bros carrier nationwide, i have heard bad things in the past, but everyone has a bad experience at one point or another. I am buying an umbrella policy and identity theft, it was fairly cheap for big coverage

hmm.. here goes....

the thing about these threads is one carrier may give person A a great rate, but person B something completely off the charts.
this is great for discussing customer experience/claims, but when it comes to $$$$, it is really hard to pinpoint. if you are going to base your new carrier on customer service, then this is great, otherwise, these threads may not help find the best carrier to fit your budget.

someone posted earlier, but comparison shopping is your best bet.

just my $.02....

Just got my renewal from USAA. They just lowered rates based on certain criteria. I now pay $1650 per year for 3 cars including the S. But, they have a new clause under loss that states that if you are on a track, you no coverage, even medical. Does not mater what you were on the track for. Also any timed event (autocross) oe exhibition of vehical potential or driver skill. Can't wait till the insurace companies drop coverage for being on a certain road such as 129

Re: the class.....
I've taken it 3 times in the 9 years I've been in Ohio. The last time (about 2-3 years ago) they finally had an online version which was much shorter than 6+ hours normal class.

It's been a while but IIRC you can only take the class when you've lost your license or if your at zero points and you get a ticket (or something similar). I think there is some additional stipulation about only taking it every 12 or 24 months. Even then, I think it's only in certain counties (Franklin = yes).

edit: Also, again IIRC, the cop has to give you a flyer about the option to take the class, so if you don't get one ask for it; otherwise I'm not sure you can take the class.

Get "full" coverage. After you wreck it, you'll appreciate having that piece of mind. Just my $.02. I had comp/coll even on my '93 civic...
