I noticed people talking about going and Ray and I were talking about it too. We were thinking of going on a weekday as the crowds are much smaller but someone mentioned getting in the week before the public show??
It would be fun to caravan up there and go as a group, I'm up for any day of the week. So who wants to go??

Every year since 1992 I have been making the trek up north to the Detroit Auto Show. If you have never been, it is THE BEST display of automotive technology, design and innovation you'll see in the Midwest with Concept cars out the wazoo. The Columbus Auto Show does not even come close. In fact, after going to this show, you likely won't even bother with the Columbus Auto Show.
Over the years, I have learned NOT to go on the weekend. It is a mad house!
I usually go on Mondays or Tuesdays. This usually means taking a day off from work, which is worth it to me. This year we could take the trip on Monday January 16th (Martin Luther King Day). It is possible that some of you have this holiday off already.
This trip is easily done in one day, leaving around 7 am and getting back in town around 8 pm.

Last couple years, I went on Tuesday and it wasn't bad. Another idea would be to go on Friday (morning and afternoon). I wouldn't think it would be that busy toward the end of the week of the show and would be a nice way to start the long weekend.

That's cool to have a weekend group and then a weekday group, like last year. I have done the Windsor thing and then went to the auto show the next day. I end up blowing too much $$$ and missing a lot of the show from everyone sleeping in from the long night before.
I still plan to go during the week and I am leaning toward the Friday trip to make it a long weekend.
