Update:

I was reading in the latest Honda Tuning magazine that they were able to extract 20 more hp and 7 more lb.ft. of torque by adding a Comptech ice box and cat-back

They also explained the K24 responds well to mods

i was also underwhelmed, ended up at the time buying a accord v6 6speed, it was fun, but too much engine not enough brakes and suspension.

Steve,

How about Subaru Legacy GT? 250hp turbo, AWD. Subaru reliability and it doesn't look bad. Slightly used can be had for well under 20k.

We acually looked at those a year ago and they were 30k+ brand new @ Hatfield Subie

Yes they are very nice but I didn't want a 400 a month car payment
