Moving to Bowling Green

Moving to Bowling Green
Hey Guys
I'm currently a UIUC grad student and will doing my last year of doctoral training at BGSU. In preparation for my move this upcoming August, I was hoping you guys could give me some insight on what it's like to live in Bowling Green.
I guess helpful things to know are things like... what is the town like? Is there anything to do around there? Things to expect in terms of cost of living. One of my big questions is should I live in Bowling Green itself or would it be worthwhile to live closer to Toledo and commute.
I'm not really interested in the undergrad bar scene or drunken parties. We have plenty of that in Champaign, and even then, I did that sparingly. To give you some sort of background info, I'm more of the grad student who would rather go to a nice coffee shop and at the same time, it would be nice to know there are some places to go/things to do.
Thanks for any advice, tips, suggestions.

I did my undergrad at BG. Myle's Pizza. Enough said.
Cost of living is higher than what you might expect. There are 3-4 guys who own pretty much all of the rental property and I think at least one of them was a university trustee that got to set dorm rates.
If you are not interested in the undergrad beerfest (which was quite popular in the early 90s), I suggest you find a place in Perrysburg and commute for classes.

Thanks for the welcome to the Ohio crew. I'll be driving the S over with me, so I'll be on the lookout for events.
Scott E. - I appreciate your suggestion for Perrysburg. I'll definitely include it in my search for apartments.
