?????? What's the question? FWIW, I said "some likelihood", I didn't pretend to be certain at all.

Until symptoms are bad enough, you wont notice a bent valve. All you can see from up top is valve dropping through a bad retainer. There was an overrev at some point in time. If the valve gets bent just slightly, it can take 5k to 10k miles do develop symptoms. In my case, bent valves were immediate. and about 1700 bucks.

Maybe I should have said "diagnosed", or "diagnosed the condition" rather than "noticed" because he was still having symptoms after the valve adjustment IIRC. My bad.

Hey, just a heads up if you got your tires mounted...I dropped mine off last Friday and they did a great job (even took pics of the rims beforehand to ensure no scratches) BUT they did a poor job of putting on the wheel weights...the weights on 3 of my 4 wheels basically fell off while I was unloading them at home...I had to go back, remove them all, mark the positions, clean the area with alcohol, and reapply with some 3M exterior tape.

Just FYI, you might want to double check yours...one of those things flying off at 80MPH could do some damage...
Thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure that they are on there good. I think that they will be because I scrubbed the insides of the wheels before putting them on the car, so they should have had a clean surface to adhear to.

After the valve adjustment the car ran fine, but it was put away pretty much immediately for the winter. When I got the car out this spring it seemed to be okay, but it got progressively worse, very quickly.
I thought your car still was throwing codes immediately after the valve adjustment, and it wasn't until they replaced the gas that the problem appeared to be solved?

Sounds like I may have spoken too soon.

Dealer has done the valve adjustment and now it's throwing the 0301 & 0304 codes, so they are switching around the coil packs to see if it follows them.

He did say the valves definitely needed the adjustment, but now they are wondering if it isn't a gas issue.
You have to wonder if "the valves definitely needed the adjustment" can be read as some valves were way out of spec -- which should have at least led them to suspect the possibility of a bent valve when you were still throwing codes after the adjustment.

David1 - I think mine was only very slight and got progressively worse as I drove it more and more, I honestly can't remember doing a mis-shift in over 3 years, which would equate to about 8-12k miles ago.
Are you the original owner?

Yes.

Kamron - I honestly don't remember if it was still throwing the CEL after the adjustment. I'm pretty sure they added the fuel additive after the adjustment just to be safe, but they should have a record of it.

Sam, go back and look at the original thread where you reported things as they were happening. I think it is revealing, and may refresh your memory and shed a little more light on the situation.

Yeah, I just did. I've got a call into the dealership right now. I totally forgot the sequence of events from the fall, now I'm pretty annoyed.
